Ebay reflection

This is a time to talk about what I have learnt about selling on eBay.
1) Sellers respond slowly and at random intervals. If you are selling a good in a tight timeframe, always try to make them respond fast. If they don't, refuse to sell to them and move on to another seller even if the offer is less.
2) Try to post as much details as possible. Buyers want to be as exact as possible. Colour, usage, dimensions, condition, time frame. Everything.
3) Auction timings aren't always 'longer the better'. In fact shorter would get you sales much faster and much more aggressive pricing. For me, major mistake was the time frame of ten days were too long. I could have sold them much earlier.
4) Where money is concerned, do not neglect them. I ignored my gmail account and eBay pricing. I did not realize my items were still selling even though they have been destroyed. Damn.
5) Never be greedy. I aimed for higher pricing and was stuck up to the guy who offered more instead of the person who was more polite and much more responsive.
6) Respond quickly. When you respond slow, you sell slow. When you are selling used goods, be prepared to lose them. If not, don't sell. I thought I had to keep the furnitures to the last minute, but instead I ended up selling nothing, brilliant.
7) It's never too late to learn from your mistakes. I know I may not have sold anything (given me more trouble in fact) but overall it was a great learning experience and reflecting on my mistakes meant I have earned. It might not be in monetary value, but knowledge is one thing you carry in life and much more valuable than money.
