*Due to certain failure on
my part to recall most of the concert and how it had proceeded, I'll just split
into two different summaries. Concert summary contains the proceeding of the
concert, while individual member summary contains all the fanservice and fun
stuff (including shippings) that happened!
Concert summary:
Speed time jump to the
moment when I arrived at Stadium MRT. Ah, it was interesting to see so many
SONEs swarming around, wearing predominantly white and pink shirts. The usual
awkwardness between strangers were reduced, somehow, everyone was quite excited
and happy.
I could see Soshified people giving out the paper for the mass
event we were all preparing for. I just went up and took one.
The queue for light sticks was surprisingly short, haha.
I guess the reason was because all other merchandise was sold out. It was a
half disappointment, though it didn't matter when the concert was over.
Without any hesitation, I just asked people beside me what
the queues were for - which pen etc. fellow SONEs were really friendly. From
that moment, I could really feel the link of SNSD chaining us SONEs together.
Now, here is the interesting part. Pen B was quite empty as
compared to the other pens. Bonus, I get to move around. Awkward part, I was
standing there and the concert isn't even starting. Other people had friends
and were conjugating together.
I don't know whether it was fate or pure chance, the other guy (shikshinduo_loverxD) standing beside me
asked me "Are you alone too?" and, instantly, we were brother in
arms. We chat and it was entertaining to speak to another SONE.
Time passed and the lights
dimmed. Leaving only the centre tent and the screen with the logo for "2011
Girls' Generation Concert" lit. We cheered and light sticks were out,
waving in their entire delightful pink glow.
Every time the tent ever blew in some direction or made any small
movements, we cheered. We were preparing ourselves for the night of our lives.
All in once, the three screens in the front of the stage played a
cinematic. (The music was really loud, thankfully I brought my earplugs)
Whenever a new member came out we all cheered. It ended and the curtains of the
tent were drawn. A metal cage, tetrahedral base and pyramidal top emerged. I
briefly remember the top having a slight gap with the base. Why I was thinking
about it, I don't know. My mind drew blank as my only focus was on the stage.
Unlocked the cage did and SNSD was stunningly sitting on the steps
of the staircase prop. They were back facing us except Yoona. Yoona had her
eyes closed and it really showed you the youth and brilliance of her
beauty. Looking back at screen, see all the members singing the starting
of the song Genie. Most of us had the fan chant going, "Malhaebwa!"
and "Geulyuhwa!”
The acappella introduction was over and the real music with the
beat kicked in. The bass was so loud it kicked into your bones and your heart.
It went boom inside your chest, literally.
The girls moved off and sang. After Genie were a few songs from
the Japanese album.
After some solo stages and a few more songs, it was the greet
session where Tiffany said that Forever was going to be the last song. We
didn't believe her, of course. When Tiffany suggested that it was the
"pretend last song", we all burst out in laughter. Tiffany and
her "pretend last song", haha, just dragged me back into childhood
mode. We were playing along with her, knowing that there will be more.
Nearing the end of Complete, we all raised our sheet of paper. It
was a sight to behold, nearing 5000 SONEs holding up the paper. SNSD retired
after this. We cheered "ENCORE!~" Throughout. After it happened,
they came out from pen A in new costumes, in a boat that moved around the
perimeter of the stage. Pen B people started crowding around the edge, hoping
they would come around. When they finally came around, we screamed as the three
facing us was Tiffany, Yoona and Jessica. They were all so beautiful!
There were more songs after that and we cheered
"Encore!" again. This time they changed into their SMTown shirts and
boots. They sang a few more songs and it finally ended.
When it ended we were all real sad. We were still pretty high and
stayed, taking pictures and stuff until we got chased out by the guards. My
voice was half gone from all the screaming. It was so much fun to cheer for the
girls.
Individual member summary:
Now every member had their chance to come around and perform their
solo, with the exception being Tiffany where she sang a duet which was Lady
Marmalade with Taeyeon.
Seohyun blew the fans away when she tap danced, she really has a
whole bunch of talents! We screamed really loudly again when she ended with a
sweet "Thank you!”
Pen B had quite a lot of
Seohyun fans and we rushed around the different corners to see our favourite
members. Seohyun has this atmosphere around her that is really lady-like,
the organised, detailed. Since she is also the second tallest in SNSD, she
really is pretty. Her hair too, was great. She waved to most of us and clearly
devoted equal time to the pens and the terrace fans.
Yuri, omg. She came around the stage and greeted everyone super
cheerfully. Plus, she squat down in front of us and did her hearts, just
adorable. Skipping around too, her khab side was already emitting. During the
greet session, Yuri danced around super childishly and that, alone, made her
jump many many ranks for me.
Sooyoung danced really well, and since the dance’s main focus was
on the hips and legs, it really showcased her legs. Sooyoung’s dance partner
during her solo had to wear heels too, just to be a bit taller. Sooyoung looked
so much better in real life. In addition, it looks like she managed to put on
more weight! Her legs are that skinny anymore and she looked healthy.
Unfortunately there wasn't much luck of her at the pen B area.
Hyoyeon came around pretty often and she looked just like how you
would expect in the photos. She tried very hard to give fan service. We cheered
when she arrived and she smiled really cheerfully back too. Hyoyeon sat down
during the greet session, must have been the most tiring for her since did the
most dancing.
Yoona had her share at pen B. Just as you would expect, she possesses
ethereal beauty. She was kind of skinny though. Her abs was evidently well
trained. At first she didn't look all that excited but later it was all fine as
she was high along too ^^
Sunny came around pretty often too, she was cute and giving fan
service when appropriate. Funny thing was, if she was around, she wasn't
exactly close to pen B, either off to the ends where there would be throngs of
people already. Hence, I wasn't able to get a good view of her. She did
however, gave a huge ton of fan service. She also pointed out a fellow Pen B
SONE and waved with her :3 smile. Even though it wasn't me, I felt great
because I knew that Sunny totally made the day of the other SONE.
Jessica was, well, beautiful during her solo. On top of it,
Jessica sang really sweetly for Almost!
Jessica came around a few
times too. She gave hearts and waves. She smiled at my direction, just a few
degrees short, just stunning. Nothing short of an amazing woman! One time she
asked us to cheer during ‘Oh’ (I think), and pen B cheered with all their
might. Jessica was so surprised she went :O haha! When we had the mass event
during the end of Complete, she shed a few tears. Jessica crying shot another
arrow to my heart, then again I felt proud when
our camaraderie brought SNSD to tears.
Tiffany. Wow, she was so enthusiastic and her eye smile was
nothing short of stunning - crescent eyes and a wide smile; the genuine kind of
smile that will brighten up your day. I just typed that out and realized how
that is what the others label her eye smile as, haha. If she lived near me or
was close to me in any slight manner, her eye smile will really make a person
feel so much more relaxed and exhilarated. I used to label Jessica as the
prettiest member in SNSD but now, after seeing her in real life, I'm currently
undecided who is at the top. Tiffany's American accent was just worth screaming
over for the SONEs, that, I couldn't hear half of her speech haha.
Taeyeon. WHOOO! Pen B loved her as everyone went cheering and
screamed horrendously loudly during her parts that there was a distinct
difference in volume between members. Didn't really like her hair though T_T.
Her skin is really milky white and she came quite rarely, like Sooyoung. She
really sings fantastically! Rocker taeng...just awesome, it showed a
complete different side of the dork we know. Taeyeon did shed tears too during
Complete ^^.
Funny/Interesting/Shipping moments, not in chronological order:
Yuri and Jessica, the
Royal Couple, played around. One moment did happen near pen B where they
were dancing together, looking at each other!
Yuri was going to lean on Seohyun until Seohyun tried to brush her
hair, which ended up bringing her hand across Yuri's face. Seohyun was so
shocked lol.
Jessica beckoned Yoona who was off at the end of the choreography,
had her walk back to main stage after all the members were already there.
Taeny moments abound forever. Taeyeon became a dork when Tiffany
asked who came to the concert yesterday. Typical childishness, Taeyeon raised
her hand and answered "Me! Me! Me!" all the while hopping like a
bunny. The crowd, cheered with laughter.
When Tiffany did the speech, the girls put their mics on Tiffany
and Tiffany eye smiled again. <3 (Heard Taeyeon was kneeling in front of
Tiffany)
During Naengmyeo, Yoona and Jessica came to pen B, pointing their
mics to us trying to get us to cheer, and we did. The atmosphere was so high
then!
Hyoyeon rested on the
stairs of the stage during the greeting session as she was tired and Jessica
walked back to ask her if she was fine.
Perfect night! Even now I'm still thinking of the concert. It was
so surreal!
